Qualcomm will release new platforms for the Snapdragon 8 Series in September this year - Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 Pro, both of which use TSMC's 2nm process N2P and are Qualcomm's first 2nm chips.
Thanks to TSMC's more advanced manufacturing processes, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 series chipset will achieve higher frequencies. It has been revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 Pro's ultra large core clock frequency will exceed 5GHz, making it the highest CPU clock frequency smartphone chip in the industry. As a comparison, the CPU clock speed of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 is 4.61GHz.
It is reported that in order to make performance more aggressive, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 Pro adopts the same Heat Pass Block cooling technology as Samsung Exynos 2600, and it also supports the new LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 flash memory.
In addition, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 series adopts a brand new 2-3 architecture design, which has been adjusted compared to the previous generation's "26" architecture, and its performance will reach a new high.
