China's car charging guns have reached 20.7 million, no longer causing range anxiety

According to the latest data released by the National Energy Administration, as of the end of January 2026, the total number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure guns in China reached 20.698 million, a year-on-year increase of 49.6%.

The growth of charging facilities shows a dual force of public and private sectors.

The number of guns in public charging facilities reached 4.801 million, a year-on-year increase of 31.2%, with a rated total power of 226 million kilowatts and an average power of about 47.01 kilowatts.

The development of private charging facilities has been even more rapid, with the number of guns reaching 15.897 million, a year-on-year increase of 56.1%, and the reported installed capacity reaching 138 million kilovolt amperes.

The rapid popularization of private charging stations has enabled new energy vehicle owners to achieve a convenient charging experience at home, further reducing travel costs.
