With the implementation of AI inference models, storage products are no longer optional accessories in AI computing power, but have become strategic materials in the intensive development of AI infrastructure.

According to media reports, due to the surge in global demand for AI computing power, the price of memory chips has skyrocketed, and the conflict between Samsung's semiconductor division and mobile experience division is gradually becoming apparent. Samsung Semiconductor refuses to provide memory chips to its mobile phone division for more than a year, and the division prioritizes profitability.

It is reported that the price of 12GB LPDDR5X memory has risen to $70 in November, more than doubling from the beginning of the year. Samsung's mobile phone department cannot obtain chip orders for more than 12 months at once, but instead negotiates with the semiconductor department to renegotiate supply contracts every three months.

At present, Samsung's mobile phone department has only signed a memory chip supply contract for the fourth quarter of this year. The future supply situation still needs to be jointly negotiated and promoted by the two departments. Samsung's semiconductor department has the right to refuse the mobile phone department's request because it hopes to use the opportunity of the memory shortage to increase sales.

Analysts say that with the continuous rise in DRAM and NAND flash memory prices, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series flagship may see a price increase in the first half of next year.
