According to the latest data from research firm Counterpoint Research, in the first eight weeks of Q3 2025, smartphone sales in China decreased by 2%, mainly due to the significant decline in sales of Apple and Honor.

In terms of brand, Apple fell 6%, Honor fell 9%, Xiaomi fell 2%, and Vivo fell 5%.

Only Huawei and OPPO achieved sales growth, with growth rates of 2% and 4% respectively.

Specifically, vivo's Y300, S30, and X200s series have performed strongly in the mid-range market, but due to promotional activities and national subsidy policies intensifying competition in the mid to high end market, consumers are purchasing more mid to high end products, which is favorable for companies such as OPPO and Huawei.

Honor is struggling, with the most severe decline in market share among major OEM manufacturers, due to its channel strategy still being adjusted.

Apple's market share also decreased by one percentage point, but the overall impact was limited due to the stable performance of the iPhone 16 Pro series under price adjustments.

This also allowed the iPhone 16 series to maintain its growth momentum compared to the iPhone 15 series in the same period of 2024 at least in July

OPPO is the manufacturer with the largest growth rate, and the Reno 14 series is widely popular due to its combination of flagship features and mid-range price. The series' excellent imaging performance, durable and practical design, long-lasting battery life, and strong overall performance meet all consumer expectations, making it one of the best-selling flagship phones in China after the iPhone 16 series.

Huawei has maintained growth with its continuously expanding rich product portfolio, mainly due to the continued strong performance of the nova 13 series in the nova 14 series, which has been selling well since its launch in May.

In addition, with the continued strong performance of high-end flagship products such as the Mate 70 series, Huawei's ranking in the Chinese smartphone market continues to climb.
