At the IMID 2026 Display Technology Exhibition held in Busan, South Korea, Samsung showcased multiple cutting-edge display achievements, among which the most eye-catching was a 16 inch OLED panel for gaming laptops with a refresh rate of up to 300Hz.
This marks the first time in the industry that the refresh rate of OLED displays has been increased to the 300Hz level. Although Samsung has not yet announced the complete parameters of the panel, it has been confirmed that it uses a 2.5K resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.
Combining the inherent advantages of OLED technology in contrast and HDR performance, this new product is expected to bring excellent high dynamic range image quality, but core indicators such as peak brightness still need to be officially disclosed in the future.
If successfully mass-produced, this 300Hz OLED panel will become an important optional solution for high-end gaming laptops, providing a new display choice for players who pursue high frame rates, low latency, and ultimate picture quality.
In addition to the 16 inch product, Samsung also showcased two large-sized QD-OLED panels: one with a 31.5-inch 4K resolution and supports a variable refresh rate of up to 360Hz; The other one is a 34 inch ultra wide screen (21:9) with a 360Hz refresh rate, mainly targeting high-end esports displays and immersive gaming scenes.
There are also more forward-looking concept products on the booth, such as the 6.9-inch "Humanoid Display" equipped with eye tracking function, suitable for robot applications, and AI OLED Pendant.
