According to media reports, the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in the first half of this year, the integrated circuit production of industrial enterprises above designated size in China reached 279.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.1%.
Converted based on the six-month average, it is equivalent to producing over 1.5 billion chips per day. As the core component of intelligent equipment and electronic products, the production growth rate of integrated circuits reflects the continuous expansion of downstream demand.
According to agency forecasts, the capacity of 12 inch wafers in Chinese Mainland will increase to 3.21 million pieces/month in 2026, accounting for about one-third of the global total capacity; At the mainstream process nodes of 22 to 40 nanometers, China's production capacity is expected to reach 37% by 2026 and is expected to rise to 42% by 2028, occupying a dominant position globally.
This trend indicates that China is accelerating its growth as a "manufacturing center" for mature process chips worldwide, and building an irreplaceable scale advantage in the global supply chain.
The rapid growth of chip production is not only a continuous refresh of production line numbers, but also a vivid manifestation of the synergy and mutual empowerment of new technologies and industries.
